Day Four: Monday, June 30, 2014

My Day
    Today was a very odd day in the Danko household. Dad (John Danko) had work, so it was just me (Molly R. Danko) and mom (Maura Doern Danko) for the day. We went shopping. That BARELY ever happens.
    We went to Old Navy and got Active shorts, a t-shirt, and a bathing suit for me. After that, we went to Payless and got sneakers for me. Their brand is Champion, and they are teal blue with neon orange and neon yellow. Lastly, we went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get a cup (weird, right?). We ended up getting a peacock cup with a green lid.
    At 4:20, we went to karate. I take karate at Westchester Martial Arts in Eastchester (I know that this doesn't make any sense, but Eastchester is in Westchester) every Monday and Wednesday. I have a yellow belt with one black stripe. Today, our teachers worked us hard. When I got home, I was SUPER tired, which NEVER happens. Mom said she understood because she said she saw my eyes turning dark. I could barely walk, I was so tired. So, I took a shower before dinner, and here I am, writing The Daily Mews in my pajamas while I'm waiting for dinner to be ready. It's taking FOREVER! Ugh!
News! News! News!
    So, for News! News! News! today, I have a couple things to share with you.
  One, I am doing something related to my mom's Mail Art Project. For those of you who don't know, the Mail Art Project is when mom makes paintings and sends it off to someone, with other envelopes inside for the people to send to. I am doing Mail Books. Anyone who would like to get the books mailed to you, please write your name in comments.
    Two, I just wanted to tell you that school is-- get this-- OVER!! For me, it ended Thursday, June 26!!!!!!!!!! I am SO glad!!

My Day
    Today was a fun day. Mom was in Braddock in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the weekend, so it was just me and dad. Dad and I went to Scarsdale, where we are moving in August, to explore. Here is a list of stuff we saw that we liked;

  • Haagen Daas (ice cream and frozen yogurt)
  • Candy 'n' Cards (a greeting card shop)
  • NaMu Steakhouse; Korean Bar & Grill
  • Scarsdale Child's Play, LTD (a toy store)
  • Learning Express (a toy store)
  • Scarsdale-Spencer Pharmacy (a drugstore)
  • Second Time Around (a thrift shop)
  • Lange's of Scarsdale (a deli-slash-pizzeria)
  • Weber Fine Art (an art gallery)
  • Taiim Cellar (a restaurant with lots of hummus and avocadoes)
  • Petticoat Lane (a store with lots of cool clothes for women)
  • Imagine Candy & Chocolate (a candy store)
  • Yogajoy (a yoga place)
  • Dark Horse (an antiques shop)
  • Gingerbread Kidz (a kids' clothes store)

   After we explored for awhile, we went to a park on Garth Road for three and a half hours.
News
    I am writing three books right now. The first, Magik Girlz, is almost finished. The second is Supportive Friendship Girls. The third, Secret Princesses, I have just started yesterday.
